2.2 Information Collected Automatically
Location Data:
Precise geographic location (GPS coordinates with latitude and longitude)
Location is used to calculate distance to potential workout buddies and display nearby users
Location permissions are requested at app launch with the message: "We need your location to help you find fitness buddies nearby"
Device and Technical Information:
Device type (iOS or Android)
Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens for push notifications
Device identifiers
App version and operating system information
Usage and Activity Data:
Last active timestamp
Profile completion status
Features you interact with
Navigation patterns and user actions
Session duration and frequency of use
Buddy discovery activity (profiles viewed, skipped, or requested)
Analytics Data:

Session recordings and replays
User interaction events (50+ custom events)

2.3 Information from Third Parties
Social Sign-In:
If you sign in with Google: email address and profile information
If you sign in with Apple: email address and full name
Location Services:
Gym location data from Google Places API including gym names, addresses, and coordinates
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
3.1 Core Service Functionality
Buddy Matching: Match you with compatible workout buddies based on location proximity, workout preferences, experience levels, schedules, and goals
Recommendation Algorithm: Generate personalized buddy recommendations using a scoring system (0-100 points) that considers:
Distance score (up to 30 points)
Profile freshness (up to 15 points)
Age compatibility (up to 12 points)
Experience similarity (up to 8 points)
Schedule compatibility (up to 5 points)
Workout compatibility (up to 10 points)
Bonus points for same gym (+20), goal alignment (+4), location match (+3)
Penalties for previously skipped profiles (-18) or inactivity (-4)
Discovery System: Show you potential workout buddies within your specified radius and preferences
Messaging: Enable real-time communication with your matched buddies
Profile Management: Display and manage your fitness profile and preferences
3.2 Account and Authentication
Create and maintain your account

Process reports of inappropriate content, harassment, fake profiles, spam, or underage users

4. How We Share Your Information
4.1 With Other Users
Public Profile: Your profile information (name, age, photo, workout preferences, goals, experience levels, and general location) is visible to other users in your discovery radius, unless you enable the "Hide Profile" privacy setting
Matched Buddies: Users you've matched with can see your full profile and communicate with you via direct messages
Location Proximity: Other users can see your approximate distance from them but not your exact coordinates
4.2 With Service Providers
We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf:
Google/Firebase Services:
Firebase Authentication (account management)
Cloud Firestore (data storage)
Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications)
Firebase Storage (photo and media storage)

These service providers have access to your information only to perform specific tasks on our behalf and are obligated to protect your information.
4.3 For Legal Reasons

5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services:
Account Data: Retained until you delete your account
Messages: Chat history is retained indefinitely to maintain conversation continuity
Discovery Activity:
Skipped profiles: 72-hour cooldown period before re-showing
Rejected buddy requests: 30-day suppression period
FCM Tokens: Removed upon logout or account deletion
Bug Reports: Retained with "pending" status until resolved
User Reports: Retained for safety and moderation purposes
When you delete your account, we will delete your profile information and FCM tokens. Some information may be retained in backups for a limited period or as required by law.
6. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
6.1 Access and Update Your Information
You can access and update most of your profile information directly within the app settings
Review and edit your fitness preferences, matching criteria, and personal details at any time
6.2 Hide Your Profile
Enable the "Hide Profile" setting to prevent your profile from appearing in discovery recommendations
6.3 Location Settings
You can control location permissions through your device settings
Note: Disabling location will limit core functionality of finding nearby workout buddies
6.4 Push Notifications
Manage notification preferences through your device settings or within the app
You can disable push notifications at any time
6.5 Block Users
You can block other users to prevent them from viewing your profile or contacting you
Blocking is bidirectional and permanent
6.6 Delete Your Account
You can request account deletion through the app settings
Account deletion will remove your profile, photos, and FCM tokens
Some data may be retained for legal or security purposes

Infrastructure: Data is stored on Google Cloud Platform (Firebase) with enterprise-grade security
Access Controls: Limited access to personal data on a need-to-know basis
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
MeetMeFit is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately, and we will delete such information.
Our age verification requires users to be at least 18 years old, and we provide reporting mechanisms for underage users.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States, where our service providers (Google/Firebase, Microsoft) operate.
These countries may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws.

11. Analytics and Tracking Technologies
11.1 Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how users interact with our app. Clarity may collect:
Session recordings and replays of your in-app activity
Interaction data (taps, scrolls, navigation)

11.2 Firebase Crashlytics

Currently, the app does not provide a mechanism to opt out of analytics. If you wish to limit tracking, you may delete your account or discontinue use of the app.

MeetMeFit does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals from browsers or mobile operating systems.

MeetMeFit is a social platform. By using the app, you acknowledge that:
Other users can see your profile and location proximity
Your interactions (buddy requests, matches) may be visible to other users
Messages you send can be read by recipients and are stored indefinitely
Your activity status (last active time) is tracked and may be visible to matched buddies
15.3 User-Generated Content
You are responsible for any content you share through MeetMeFit, including photos, messages, and profile descriptions. Do not share sensitive personal information (such as home address, phone number, financial information) through the app.
